Apple Holding a Special iPhone 4 Press Confrence Today

July 16th, 2010 admin No comments

The iPhone 4 has had the most talked about launch in the history of the device. Issues are reported left, right and center, everyday with it. The reception issue, thanks to the ‘death grip’ takes the crown. Apple has practically said nothing about these issues apart from releasing one official statement in which they said they would solve the reception problem with a software update. They actually want to solve another issue (signal bar calculation formula), instead of talking about the real issue. After this long silence, we are finally hearing from many tech blogs that Apple is ready to talk about iPhone 4 issues and they will be holding a press conference on Friday.

As loopinsight reported:

Apple on Wednesday invited select press to a special press conference to be held this Friday in California.Apple would only say that the press conference would be regarding the iPhone 4. No other information was available when I spoke with them tonight.

We don’t think that only a software update would solve this problem. Some experts are thinking that Apple may recall iPhone 4 but it looks impracticable as it would cost them around $1.5 Billion according to some analysts. Apple might also offer free bumpers to the ‘death grip’ effected users. Whatever the case is, we hope Apple would give a practical solution of this problem and solve it for good.

iPhone 4G – My Thoughts

June 29th, 2010 admin No comments

The Apple iPhone 4, whoa this thing looks cool! The question is; can it continue to be the BMW of smart phones, the standard everyone tries to beat?

Looking from the outside I would say yes. Available in Black or White, Apple has made yet another sexy phone. They armed this lil bad boy with two 5MP cameras, 720p video recording, the gorgeous 3.5 inch Retina Display and finally a LED flash. Like most beautiful things, Megan Fox for example, is only skin deep.  Will this hold true for the iPhone 4 as well?

Well let’s look inside shall we? The iPhone 4 lets you choose between 16GB or a generous 32GB. If you’re a media pack rat like me, then I suggest going with the later. Aside from having more storage space, you get bragging rights. “My Civic is faster than your Corolla and my iPhone has a bigger hard drive.” The iPhone 4 is packing a 1 GHz processor and 512 MB of memory. Keep in mind that the competitors Droid X and EVO 4G does as well. In my honest opinion the internals of this phone is nothing “game changing.”

Although the iPhone 4 was quite impressive when I first laid my eyes on it; I wasn’t quite impressed when I first laid my hands on it. It still retains the awesome touch screen keyboard that previous iPhones had, but I kind of wish Apple added something like SWYPE. It’s a cool feature that allows users to drag their finger across the screen, touching all of the letters that belong in a particular word, without lifting their finger.  The device then automatically detects the word that the user was “swyping.”  I know Apple is trying to make a trend to switch to HTML5, but for the time being I wish there was Flash.

Honestly I was hoping for a lot more from this new release of the iPhone. After waiting so long for its release, I feel kind of let down. Also, the fact that I have to be married to AT&T again leaves my shoulders slumped. Sorry just for that reason alone, I must pass go. I will stick with my 3G iPhone for a lil bit longer, but Android phones are looking more and more attractive. I am tempted to walk over to the dark side.
